
"I haven’t had success for donkey's years. I didn’t want anybody to come along with it, but you can’t stop anybody. So obviously, it does hurt you. Then I was like, ‘it doesn’t matter let’s go along with it.’ But initially, when things were not working out for the longest time, I thought if nobody would release alongside your film then you would at least get theatres," Sunny said.

He further told Karan Johar that he had personally contacted Akshay and requested him to avoid the clash as Gadar 2 was his big screen comeback after a long time. However, Akshay stated that the decision to release the movie on August 11 was made by the studio.

August was an exceptional month for the Hindi film industry as both Gadar 2 and OMG 2, despite their clash at the box office, achieved remarkable success.
