The duo of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are set to feature in an upcoming thriller, directed by Priyadarshan. While production is yet to commence, the excitement amongst fans is high, especially now that the title has been announced.
Reports confirm that the film will be called Haiwaan and said, “The team felt this describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it, as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. There were other titles in contention, but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play.” Reports also suggest that Akshay Kumar will be portraying the antagonist in the film. He has portrayed negative characters before in films like Aflatoon, Ajnabee, & 2.0 and it will be interesting to see how Akshay’s character will be portrayed in this particular film’s plot.
It's also believed that both Akshay and Saif showed enthusiasm upon reading the script. “It’s a nail-biting and entertaining thriller film. Helmed by Priyadarshan, it will leave the audiences on the edge of their seats,” another report said.
The film is planned to go on floors in August this year and planned to be released next year in 2026.
This film marks the reunion between Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, who are coming together again after 17 years, following their most prominent collaboration in 2008 action-comedy Tashan. Akshay recently completed work in Bhooth Bangla, also under the direction of Priyadarshan, while Saif’s most recent appearance was in Jewel Thief.
Apart from Tashan, Akshay and Saif have done other notable films as well such as – the cult favorite Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Tu Chor Main Sipahi, and Keemat. These films showcased their on-screen chemistry and have set the stage for yet another memorable re-union which will be a treat for their fans.
