The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) concerning the death of Disha Salian, who worked as a manager for late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, following directions from the Bombay High Court for a detailed investigation.
Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a building in Mumbai, just days before Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence. At the time, authorities had recorded Salian’s death as an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
The latest development follows the Bombay High Court’s direction to the CBI to formally register an FIR and examine the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death. The court had earlier questioned why the case remained limited to an ADR despite allegations from Salian’s family that her death was the result of foul play.
A Division Bench comprising Justice Bharti Dangre and Justice Manjusha Deshpande had also taken note of the fact that Salian’s family had reportedly not received copies of crucial documents, including the post-mortem report and ADR, even several years after her death.
Following the court’s order, Salian’s father, Satish Salian, said he had shared information concerning the circumstances of his daughter’s death with investigators. He also expressed confidence that the authorities would now proceed with the investigation.
Speaking to ANI on Friday, Satish Salian said he had provided investigators with details available to him and identified several people whom he wanted the authorities to question as part of the probe.
“I stated the facts exactly as they were; I told them everything that happened to my daughter. I listed all the names: Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and the bodyguards. They noted everything down,” he said.
According to Satish Salian, investigators told him that they would take appropriate action based on the information he had provided and that proceedings would begin shortly.
“The truth cannot be defeated. God stands where the truth is; that is why justice will be served,” he said.
The registration of the FIR marks a significant development in the long-running case. The CBI will now investigate the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death and examine the allegations and information placed before the authorities.
The investigation is expected to establish the sequence of events leading to Salian’s death and determine whether there is any evidence supporting the allegations of foul play.
